THE LEADOUT FOUNDATION
Fostering access to bicycling for riders of all ages and experience levels and supporting emerging racers.
US cycling saw exponential growth in 2020 with new and returning riders seeking resources to further their new or rediscovered passion. For us, the question was “what can cycling events do to engage new riders and keep cycling on the upswing?”
The LeadOut Foundation was formed by experienced cyclists to support Austin-area cycling advocacy, education, and community efforts aimed at engaging new riders. Increasing the pool that committed riders come from is hard work and takes money. We fund local organizations already doing the heavy lifting of advocacy, engagement, and education and support emerging racers through our own programming, namely the Mentor Program.
BENEFICIARIES
The LeadOut Foundation was founded in part to support local cycling advocacy and education efforts. Turning avid cyclists into racers first means deepening the pool of riders in our community. Our fundraising supports other local nonprofits making the local cycling community better for us all.
